First Aid

The safety and well being of your child is one of our top priorities, and whilst some bumps and bruises are to be expected as little our ones learn to get around and discover their environment, you can rest assured that all of our staff are trained in first aid should it be needed.

Key Person

Each child here at Barncliffe Day Nursery is given a Key Person who will find out all about what your child likes to do.  They will become their friend who cares for them, gives cuddles and ensures they stay safe.  They will follow your entire child’s health care routine along with supporting their development.

You, as your child’s first educator, will be listened to and we will value what you have to tell us about your child.  You and your Key Person will share your child’s experiences throughout their time at nursery and all information that is given to us will be respected and kept confidential.

Your key person will speak to you at the end of the each day and give you an honest overview of your child’s day.  We will share art work, photos and displays with you.  However, as we understand we all lead busy lives and the information we share with you will also be in written in a daily diary with all the details of their day too.

Stay and Play Sessions

Look out for our Stay and Play sessions in our newsletter which gives you the chance to come along to nursery and spend some quality one to one time with your children.  During this time you will have the opportunity to talk with your child’s Key Person about how they are developing and it is also a good time to have a look at their Learning Journey.

Your child’s Learning Journey contains observation, evidence such as photos and artwork, which shows how they are developing throughout their first years at nursery and at home.  The Learning Journey is linked and assessed with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
