Rainy Days Out
Bored of the house but restricted by the rain? Here are just a few of the things you can do away from your home on a rainy day.
Family-friendly museums offer a great opportunity to get out the house, away from the rain, and take the opportunity to learn something new. There are plenty of museums that children will love to explore, especially when they have interactive activities you can take part in. Whether it’s science, history, space, or everything wrapped into one, there are plenty of fun museums around for you and your little ones to enjoy on a rainy day.
Take a trip under the sea to your nearest aquarium! If you’re looking for things to do with kids on a rainy day, the aquarium is a great option. Watch all of the wonderful marine creatures swimming around, while learning all about the wonders of the sea. For an extra special activity, look for an aquarium with an interactive pool where you can delicately touch the sea creatures.
For a fun activity that all the family can enjoy, head to your nearest bowling alley. Spend your rainy day playing a fun game of classic ten-pin bowling, a great activity to bring the entire family together. Modern bowling alleys have fantastic child-friendly features, so it’s a great rainy day activity for all ages.
Rainy Days In
Not a fan of leaving the house once the rain starts? No problem! Here are some of our favourite things to do when we want a pyjama day in the house.
Have a Cosy Movie Day
Sometimes when the weather is bad, the last thing you want to do is, well, anything. It can be difficult to motivate yourself when the weather is dull, which is why a cosy movie day is a great idea. Wrap up warm under blankets and choose a fantastic movie to share with all of the family. To make things extra exciting for your little one, build a special movie fort for you to spend the day in.
Make Something Special
If you’re looking for things to do with kids on a rainy day that have more of a creative twist, try working together to make something! If you’re in the mood for something sweet, get up an exciting, yummy recipe that you can bake together. The best part? You get to eat it at the end! If you’re looking for something a bit more crafty, try making a card or present for an upcoming birthday, everybody loves a homemade craft.
Become a Superhero, Princess, Pirate … Whatever You Want!
Rainy days are the perfect time to let your imagination run wild. It doesn’t matter how old you are, get in to character with your little one and ready to run around the house and pretend it’s whatever you want it to be. Want to play pirates? Perfect, your home is now your ship and that broom is your trusty sword. You can be whatever you want when you let your imagination take control.
